Ozone Pest Control
Using Ozone for Pest Control
If you have kids or you're just chemical conscious you dread having pesticides sprayed in your home to control pests. Pesticides as you probably know wreak havoc on the immune system and can lead to a long list of health problems. Ozone Shock Treatments might just be the best "Green" solution! Ultra high levels of ozone can kill small insects such as bedbugs, dust mites, and tiny "parasites" that are becoming a problem in many areas these days. These small critters can't survive for long periods in high ozone environments so "nuke'm" with ozone and be done with them! Here are some Q and A's on this subject:
Q: Is ozone toxic?
A: Ozone is simply three atoms of oxygen. Oxygen can and never be considered a toxic substance, unless to those who practice "junk science". Ozone however in high concentrations is highly oxidative towards any organic substance and toxic to small critters and insects when exposure and concentration reach a "tipping point". Ozone is not meant to be inhaled in HIGH concentrations! Our ozone generators are for "shock treatments" only unless used with our repeat cycle timer that cuts the machine on for 40 seconds every so often.
Q: Can ozone kill rodents?
A: Yes, if those critters become trapped in an ozone shock treatment environment for 6 or more hours, they'll suffer lung issues and they will perish.
Q: What precautions must be taken before using ozone to kill pests?
A: The basic ones. Remove all pets and people from the area. Remove anything with soft rubber (speakers, rubber shoes, etc). Seal the vents, doors, etc. Post a warning (if a public location) not to enter. Don't return for 1 hr after the ozone is cut off.
Q: Can ozone kill flying pests?
A: Yes, and quite quickly even in LOW concentrations which are safe for humans. We use a repeat cycle timer to turn our ozone generator on for 40 seconds every 10 minutes near our air return. That distributes just enough ozone throughout our 3000 sq ft home to create .02-.04 ppm ozone concentrations, less if we're cooking or during "dirty air" days where most of the ozone is used to purify the air. Even with those low concentrations of ozone in the air, flying insects; flies, mosquitoes, moths, etc will perish within hours and avoid going inside your home when presented with the opportunity. We're also told that ozone keeps certain "parasites" away in areas with heavy Chemtrail spraying.
